Coffee beans. Traditionally cultivated and hand-roasted. +9 is a 100 % fair trade mixture perfectly balanced between arabica and robusta, with a full and decisive taste and a creamy and intense body. Guatemala and Uganda: two countries separated by 9 hours of time zone, but united to offer you a quality fair trade coffee.

100% fair trade, traditionally grown and hand-roasted

It is a perfectly balanced blend of coffee between arabica and robusta, with a full and decisive taste and a creamy and intense body. +9 was born from the collaboration with the Mission Bambini Foundation and the Association Together you can – Uganda, to give work, dignity and a fair income to coffee-producing farmers and their families in Guatemala and Uganda.

Arabica, the coffee of the great volcanoes

The arabica of this mixture is grown in Guatemala, on soils of volcanic origin rich in minerals, at an altitude of 1,500 meters.. Also known as "green gold",it is produced by the cooperatives Nueva Esperanza and San Francisco de Asis, which through the direct marketing of coffee continue the commitment to improve the living conditions of their communities, in particular in the field of education and health.

Robust, the coffee of the great lakes

The robustness of this blend is cultivated in Uganda,on the plateau overlooking Lake Victoria, at an altitude of 1,000 meters. Precisely this area is said to have given rise to this variety, when some spontaneous seedlings were found in 1860.It is produced by the Ugandan NGO TDA as part of the project "AISS – Agro ecology, Entrepreneurship and Social Development", which aims to restore dignity to work and guarantee a fair income to 900 coffee-producing farmers and their families in the peri-urban reality of Kampala.

The project "AISS – Agro ecology, Entrepreneurship and Social Development"

Promoted by the Mission Bambini Foundation in partnership with the Association Insieme Si Può – Uganda, it involves farmers belonging to the NGO Tweyanze Development Agency (TDA). The aim of the project is to give 900 coffee-producing farmers in the peri-urban reality of Kampala the means and training necessary to significantly increase the amount of coffee produced and to improve its quality, to guarantee them and their families better working and living conditions. The project includes the following main actions: the construction of a coffee collection centre, the purchase of a truck for the transport of coffee, the purchase and distribution of 45,000 new coffee seedlings. In addition to interventions on the coffee production chain, the project will favor the cultivation of vegetables in greenhouses for the benefit of 12,000 children orphaned or suffering from HIV, through the construction of 18 new greenhouses.

This coffee is imported and marketed by the Shadilly Cooperative of Fano, which for years has been dealing with fair trade coffee with commitment and passion, collaboratingwith small local producers also in Uganda and Haiti.

The Shadilly Cooperative, with its work, wants to make its contribution to the development of a new way of conceiving the economy and well-being by favoring the meeting between conscious consumers and small ethical producers in the countries of the South of the world, who must be guaranteed a decent income, organizing commercial relationships not focused on profit, but on respect, sustainability and ethics.
