100% fairtrade, traditionally cultivated and artisan roasted coffee

It is a coffee blend perfectly balanced between arabic and robusta, with a full and determined taste and a creamy and intense body. +9 is born from the collaboration with the Fondazione Mission Bambini and the Insieme SI Può (Together we can) Association - Uganda, to give work, dignity and a fair income to coffee makers and their families in Guatemala and Uganda.

Arabica, the great volcanoes' coffee

The arabica of this blend is cultivated in Guatemala, on mineral-rich volcanic soils at 1,500 mt altitude. Also called "green gold", it is produced by the cooperatives Nueva Esperanza and San Francisco de Asis, which through the direct marketing of coffee continue their commitment to improve the living conditions of their communities, particularly in the educational and health sectors.

Robusta, the great lakes' coffee

The robusta of this blend is cultivated in Uganda, on the plateau overlooking Lake Vittoria, at 1,000 mt altitude. This area is claimed to have given rise to this variety when some spontaneous seedlings were discovered in 1860. It is produced by Ugandan TDA in the project "AISS - Agro Ecology, Entrepreneurship and Social Development", which has the goal of returning dignity to work and ensuring a fair income for 900 coffee makers and their families in the peri-urban reality of Kampala.

"AISS - Agro Ecology, Entrepreneurship and Social Development" project

Promoted by the Fondazione Mission Bambini in partnership with the Insieme Si Può – Uganda association, it involves the farmers belonging to the Ong Tweyanze Development Agency (TDA). The objective of the project is to give 900 coffee makers in the peri-urban Kampala region the means and training needed to significantly increase the amount of coffee produced and improve its quality guaranteeing them and their families better working and living conditions. The project involves the following major actions: the construction of a Coffee Collection Center, the purchase of a truck for the transportation of coffee, the purchase and distribution of 45,000 new coffee pots. In addition to interventions on the coffee production chain, the project will favor the cultivation of greenhouse vegetables for the benefit of 12,000 orphaned or HIV-infected children through the construction of 18 new greenhouses.

This coffee is imported and marketed by the Shadilly Cooperative placed in Fano (Italy, Marche region), which for years has worked with passion promoting fair trade coffee, cooperating with small local producers in Guatemala, Uganda and Haiti.
Shadilly Coop, with its commitment wants to contribute to the development of a new way of conceiving economy by encouraging a meeting between conscious consumers and small ethical producers from developing countries, by organizing business relationships not centered on profit but on respectsustainability and ethics.
